(thoughts)
"Before the beautiful-no, not really before but within the beautiful-the whole person quivers. He not only 'finds' the beautiful moving; rather, he experiences himself as being moved and possessed by it."
- Hans Urs von Balthasar
"Everywhere I go, I'm asked if I think the universities stifle writers. My opinion is that they don't stifle enough of them. There's many a best seller that could have been prevented by a good teacher."
- Flannery o'Connor
"Christians are called to leave behind, in the tomb of Jesus Christ, all that belongs to the brokenness and incompleteness of the present world. It is time, in the power of the Spirit, to take up our proper role, our fully human role, as agents, heralds, stewards of the new day that is dawning."
- NT Wright
"When we think our brother or sister has sinned against us, such an affront is not just against us but against the whole community. A community established as peaceful cannot afford to let us relish our sense of being wronged without exposing that wrong in the hopes of reconciliation."
- Stan Hauerwas
"Advertising treats all products with the reverence and the seriousness due to sacraments."
- Thomas Merton
"All the believers were of one in heart and mind. No one claimed that any of their possesions was their own, but they shared everything that they had."
- Acts of the Apostles
"For evil men account those things alone evil which do not make men evil; neither do they blush to praise good things, and yet to remain evil among the good things they praise. It grieves them more to own a bad house than a bad life, as if it were man's greatest good to have everything good but himself."
- St. Augustine

A series of not-so random links:
Well, today I wrote a bit on myspace about Valentines Day. I know you all love it nearly as much as I do (don't you?) but I felt it would be good for me to put up a little history on the holiday. Somewhat out of laziness and somewhat out of a desire to bring more attention to the fact I have a myspace account, this blog is exclusive to myspace. This is the link to my profile. I want you to see the pink. Father Alan has compiled his list of top posts for 2006. Sort of. Very good reads, I enjoyed all of them. The one on Francis and Benedict is probably my favorite. I encourage all of you to read it (I think I probably only have one or two readers anymore... it's all good) Good stuff. Kyle Potter comments on Fr. Peter Matthews (An Anglican priest in Lexington) and "The Evil Pope," bearing Fr. Matthews namesake, in the new Left Behind videogame. It's amusing. In a childish sort of, "Kyle's a nerd" sort of way. I have added two new faces to my blogroll. They are under the Catholic section (weird, huh?) Author, Mike Aquilina is the first. He keeps an interesting and informative blog chock full of patristic goodness. I know you all love it. The next is Fr. Christppher Phillips. His parish has a unique and interesting history that I wouldn't want to spoil by laying it all out. Mostly because I don't understand it all... haha! He seems like a nice fellow. I like his hymns. Well, that's all. Be sure to click on all of these. Word.

Atonement parish in San Antonio is lovely! It's definitely the most memorable Mass at which I've assisted. If you love England, you'll love the Mass there.
Thanks Mike. It's always good to know someone's getting something out of what we put out there. Peace to you - hope all is well.
I will murder you.
Richard: Hello. I don't think we know each other. I'm Mike.
Alan: I read everything. Everywhere. Everything is well, thank you very much.
Kyle: I'll punch you in the face then drown your ass.
You guys make me laugh. :-)
